Will Rowland, alongside his wife Myken, own and operate Butlers Reef, a long-standing hospitality venue on the Taranaki coast known for its strong community focus, live entertainment, and classic Kiwi hospitality.

Alongside his hospitality experience, Will has a background in tech start-ups, volunteer travel management, and working with remote teams across different countries and industries. That experience has given him a broad perspective on business operations, people management, systems, and adapting to the changing demands of modern hospitality, while still keeping the focus firmly on the customer experience and team culture.

Outside of hospitality, Will and Myken are raising young twins and a young daughter - experience he jokes has prepared them well for the pace, unpredictability, and organised chaos of the hospitality industry.

Will is passionate about creating sustainable hospitality businesses that support their staff, contribute positively to their communities, and provide memorable experiences for locals and visitors alike. He believes the strength of the industry comes from good people, strong relationships, and venues that genuinely connect with their communities.
