New members appointed to Nelson Tasman Regional Skills Leadership Group
The Government has recently appointed new members to the Nelson Tasman Regional Skills Leadership Group (RSLG), to provide their unique perspectives on how to address the region’s workforce challenges, in collaboration with local community, industry, and sector stakeholders.
The RSLG’s are a nationwide initiative that are regionally lead, with a focus on maintaining autonomy and independence, to address the issues that are present locally.
Co-chair of the group, Justin Carter says, “we are delighted with the high calibre of the new members, and I look forward to working with them as the Nelson Tasman RSLG develops the Regional Workforce Plan, to address the region’s long term workforce challenges and opportunities, in order to meet the regions aspirations and objectives.”
Carter’s fellow co-chair, Ali Boswijk, notes that “the interim RSLG has already proven to be highly valued and effective in providing information on the impacts the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns had on the region’s labour market, and leading successful initiatives such as Catch-A-Job and Pick Nelson-Tasman.”
New members to join Boswijk and Carter on the Nelson Tasman RSLG are Pat Dougherty, Fiona Wilson, Jennifer Beatson, Grahame Andrews, Kim Odendaal, Sarah Proctor-Thomson, Johny O’Donnell, Gary Hooper and Craig Churchill, with more to be announced. Their experience and connections will cover aquaculture, local government, hospitality, workers, community, small business, education, and the Public Sector.
The list of the new members is available on the MBIE website.
