MEDIA RELEASE
24 June 2021
COVID-19 update from the New Zealand Government
No positive COVID-19 cases reported in Wellington
There are no reported positive cases of COVID-19 in the Wellington community today, but we must stress that we are not out of the woods yet.
There has been high demand for testing in the region; 2100 tests were processed yesterday (five times more than the day before) and thousands more are expected over the next few days.
Health officials are requesting that only those that have been at a location of interest come forward for testing over the next 48 hours, because it's those test results that will help us determine what to do next.
If you have been to a location of interest OR you are experiencing symptoms, please come forward immediately to be tested.
Testing sites in Greater Wellington:
All information about where to get tested is provided on Capital and Coast DHB, Hutt Valley DHB, Wairarapa DHB, and Healthpoint.
Many GPs also do COVID-19 testing, please ring ahead as they will have specific procedures in place to keep people safe.
