WeChat Pay
WeChat Pay (Weixin Pay) is one of the leading mobile payment and digital wallet services in China, integrated into WeChat, the country’s most popular social media and lifestyle app with over 1.3 billion monthly active users. It is the everyday payment choice for Chinese customers, used for both online and in-person transactions.
For New Zealand businesses, accepting WeChat Pay means more than just adding another payment method. It creates a direct connection to Chinese customers - tourists, students, and residents - through a platform they already know and trust. Beyond payments, WeChat Pay is also a marketing channel, giving businesses exposure through in-app campaigns, promotions, and free visibility on WeChat’s ecosystem.

How to integrate with WeChat Pay?
Please contact the WeChat Pay Oceania Team and provide the name of your POS provider (e.g.,
Windcave, Verifone, Smartpay). We will coordinate with the provider to complete your setup quickly,
remotely, and free of charge.
How to sign up for the campaign?
Once your setup is complete, you can join the campaign at no cost by contacting the WeChat Pay Oceania

Q. What does it cost to accept WeChat Pay?
A: In most cases, the cost is similar to other payment methods. For specifics, please contact your acquirer to confirm. No setup fee!
Q. How will my customers know I accept WeChat Pay?
A: Your customers will see the WeChat Pay logo on the POS terminal, and we also provide signage for inside and outside your store. Because of WeChat’s strong brand awareness, Chinese customers feel more welcome when they see the logo.
Q. Is the campaign free of charge?
A: Yes!
Q. When WeChat provides discounts, will the settlement amount to merchants be reduced?
A: No. Merchants always receive the full listed price. All discounts and lucky money are fully covered by WeChat Pay official channels.
